Our Values

Pay careful attention to not only what the client wants, but why they want it.

How do the Terms of Reference and scope of work reflect the broader contextual issues that a project, programme or service is trying to address?

Look before leaping, ask before deciding.

Engagement with any particular problem or challenge starts with an open mind and a proactive approach to stakeholder consultation. Asking for, then reconciling, diverse viewpoints makes for a stronger product.

Afford due benefit of doubt.

Ideas are one thing, making them stick is another thing altogether. Having launched a social enterprise, seen it grow to span two continents and seen it struggle to evolve to the next step has been an education in how hard it can be to make progress in the real world.

Humour helps with learning.

There is a lot that can be done virtually, but attention spans do waver. Engaged participants learn better, come back for more and openly share. Keeping things human, designing activities that engage and ensuring the odd moment of levity, all make for time better spent.

Keep it simple.

It is easy to make something complicated, it is hard to keep it simple. Simple is not the same as simplistic. Yet simple is robust. Don’t lose sight of how to make your ideas outlast your own enthusiasm for the complex solution.

Leverage your and our network.

We all have different professional and personal networks. Putting them to work is a way to improve thinking, avoid reinventing wheels and have more impact on the world. I am eternally grateful for the breadth, depth and richness of my own network and firmly believe in paying it forward.
